MY 5 FAVORITE ON-THE-GO BREAKFAST RECIPES

Breakfast can be the most challenging meal of the day. Often the mornings rush by, sometimes you're running late, and other times you might just forget as you're heading off to work. Personally, I waste so much money grabbing something from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts because I didn't give myself enough time to pack something to-go. Yet, I'll have a kitchen full of food I could have made.

Helpful tip: Prep your breakfast the night before!

I can not stress this enough how many times I have said, 'eh I'm enjoying relaxing I'll give myself time to pack my breakfast in the morning'. I bet you all can guess where this is going, or have experienced this yourself. When the morning comes, YOU DON'T HAVE TIME. Mysteriously time flew by and you just didn't end up grabbing something before you left the house. Now, your only options are waste money and pick something up OR just go without.

Depending on your career, picking something up isn't always the best option but sometimes becomes necessary. If you don't budget correctly this can easily result in trying to stretch what you have instead of having a cushion of money for security. Day after day, $4-$12 adds up fast. In the moment it seems like such a small amount but when this is consistently happening, you start to wonder where your money went.

Check out these 5 yummy & quick breakfast go-tos:

Overnight Oats

This is my #1 breakfast option. It is easy, can be very healthy, and is something you can make the night before or the morning of. You can do a ton of variations and mix different fruits to include all of your favorites. Check out a recipe here.

My favorite way to make overnight oats is including bananas, peanut butter, and a honey drizzle on top! Not only is this so simple, but if you're NOT an oats fan- sometimes I make it more like a greek yogurt parfait with peanut butter or Nutella. It's just as amazing!

Breakfast Burrito

This one can take a bit more time but it just as simple. The only difference is cook time in a breakfast burrito- depending on what you chose to include. Keep in mind, this can be meal prepped to cut out a lot of cook time OR you can use leftovers after a taco night. You can also simplify your breakfast burrito or add in as much flavor as you'd like. Check out some recipes here and here!

Smoothie

Probably the easiest of all the breakfast ideas! A smoothie is the perfect on-the-go recipe that you can change up everyday or repeat the same. Depending on how your body handles eating this early- this could be a great option for light eaters or those who can't seem to eat large meals in the morning. Take a few ideas from Slumber & Scones here or Kristines's Kitchen here!

Bread/muffins

This one takes a bit of meal prep. If you have the time on a Sunday or even one night during the week make some banana bread or blueberry muffins that you can easily grab as you walk out the door. Yes you need to prep this one before hand, but in the long run you will have breakfast all week if you make enough. Found a cool recipe here!

Bacon, Egg, & Cheese

Another option that could take a bit more time but I'd say no more than 15 minutes if you have all the ingredients ready to go. Personally, I love making my own because I know how I like my breakfast sandwich. Not only do you need to limit this to bacon, but for all my Taylor ham fans- you can make that at home too!

-----------

I hope this gave you a few breakfast ideas for the week and moving forward. Breakfast can be so simple and timeless when done right or prepped for. Stop wasting money when you can make most of these things at home! Save your money, get it all ready (or as much as you can) the night before and enjoy.
