Every woman has heard this term by now, it is infamous, and it is something we are all thriving to be. We want to be seen and respected and this term boss babe has evolved to this trendy title that everyone aspires to be regardless of what you do.

A boss babe to me is a woman who is striving for success, who works hard, is on a journey to the top of her mountain, and is quite literally a BOSS A$$ B!TCH! Too far? you get the point. To me, a boss babe, tends to be a woman on a mission and she has a fierce attitude about her that inspires and empowers others.

For most of us, we envision ourselves in a place that seems so far. We envision a dream of a woman who has it all together, gets dressed to impress everyday, and has the strongest confidence in herself. What we forget to realize is that we can be that woman TODAY. We can be her TOMORROW! You don't need to wait 5 years or 10 years until your 'career' considers you at that level. You have the power to be a boss babe every day. You have the power to carry yourself as whoever you want to be. It doesn't matter what your title is and it doesn't matter how much money you make.

This world has made it accessible for you to be your own boss at your fingertips. You can start a business and watch it grow faster than ever. You can create a blog and write about what you are passionate about. You can climb the ladder in corporate America quicker than past generations. You have endless possibilities and opportunities if you work for it.

So channel your inner boss babe TODAY, don't wait for it to happen upon you. Change yourself to adapt that mentality now. Don't sit around and look at other women doing what you want to be doing, collaborate with those women doing the same thing you're dreaming of. There is no better day than today to start and no excuse to wait.

Here is how I channel my inner boss babe!

Do something for yourself today. Something that betters you mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Whether you go to the gym, learn something new, read your bible, read a book, or even just devote time to self-care. Dedicate time for yourself to be by yourself. Once you create that time for yourself, you will see a difference in yourself.

Reality check, look at the people around you. Do they encourage you, motivate you, or push you to challenge yourself? Put people in your life that inspire you and want you to be the best version of yourself. Keep those around you that are a positive influence and are with you telling you to keep going when you're ready to quit on your dreams. Surround yourself with people who have similar ambitions and goals. This might be one of the most important lessons in life- the people you surround yourself with always influence the person you are. You will always gravitate towards having their behaviors.

Notice how I said 'Yourself'. Dress how future you who has conquered the world would dress. When you get dressed, don't think - well I might stand out, or everyone dresses a tad more casual. Dress how YOU want to dress. Dress for the job you want. Dress for the woman you want to be, and be her. Quit thinking of what other people will think and wear what makes you feel good.

Dig deep if you have to and let her out. Let out the woman who is confident in who she is. We all have a confident part of us that we shy away from because we're scared. Be confident in who you are and be confident in your brand and your image. The moment you stop being scared of being yourself, that is the moment the fierce, boss babe in you will rise.

What makes you feel proud?! Is it taking on something challenging at work? Is it putting out a new blog post and seeing the reactions? Is it making a video showing other women how to do their make up? Is it building your brand? Check something off of your list today that you LOVE to do and that sets the fire in you.

Have a vision of where you want to go and who you want to be. What goals do you want to conquer and what are you doing to get there. Often we have dreams and goals for ourselves but we don't actually work to achieve them. What is one thing you can do today to get one step close?

Until Next Time,

Your Sunflower
