Quote of the week
Fun fact: I am super cheesy and live for inspirational quotes. So much that my beautiful friend Gen got me the best birthday present last year. A deck of inspirational cards that have different quotes, front and back. Naturally I was LIVING for these. Lucky for you, I'm going to share them every now and then.
*Prepare for the cheesiness*
Originally I picked out this card and read the other side but when I flipped it over I decided I was going to share this one with you because well, I just graduated college and as weird as this is going to sound... I misslearning and going to class! Crazy I know.
"Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can - There will always come a time you will be grateful you did"
I read this as I've been feeling sad I wasn't back in class, taking notes, and writing papers. It is what I've known for the past 16 years. HOWEVER,I remembered that you don't need to be in class to learn. You don't need a professor to teach you. You learn from the people around you everyday, people you run into at a coffee shop, your bosses, your family, your friends, the list goes on. Some of the most important lessons I've learned were outside a classroom.
Sometimes the most important lessons to be learned are not about statistics or biology but about life, kindness, compassion, happiness, and respect. Clearly our world could use a little more knowledge on such things. My favorite conversations are in fact ones with my grandpa, he LOVES to talk about his past and growing up. The funniest part about conversations with older generations is that they somehow alwaysthrow in these words of wisdom you don't see coming. Next thing you know you're getting a life lesson. You didn't sign up for it but you got it. Those are the lessons you will be most grateful for.
Until next time,
